Easter Christening

My DS is being baptised on Easter Sunday. We have booked the local village hall for a buffet afterwards.

I don't want it to look like a dusty, empty hall. I have some ideas on decorating, but will literally have 5 - 10mins to do it all, so I am now unsure.

I was thinking of covering the tables with pastel table cloths, and having little jars of Daffodils and some bunting (yes I know, but I do love a good bit of bunting Grin)

What else could I do? I am a bit stuck...... Confused

Poundland have got all the Easter decs in at the mo. Nice pastel colours too. If there are going to be lots of dcs they could make Easter bonnets etc on a table?

Balloons? If you google you can get ideas for balloon centrepieces. I have bought balloons on sticks on ebay so that they stand up but bit cheaper than helium, and can be blown up a day or two before, helium will all be flat if you do it before.

If you are planning to do party bag things (we only did for ds as had. Dd1+2 friends who all equate parties with bags); poundland do bucket spade sets, they are medium sized, and great to start the summer with. You could stick balloons on sticks in them and dot them around the hall.

I know someone who did helium balloons with rubber duck weights for decoration + each child.

Sorry should clarify that have bought balloon sticks - like the ones you get given as merchandising by the companies not willing to fork out on helium, not balloons on sticks, but am sure you all know what I mean!

Thank you.

Not very many children, maybe 10 at most ranging in ages. I thought I might get some garden games type things to set up in one part of the hall.

Didn't think of poundland, will have a look. I thought some glass bowls of mini eggs might look nice too? (and I love mini eggs Grin

When my daughter was Christened, we arranged roses (bought in the bunches from Tescos) in clean jam jars and put bright pink checky ribbon round the top and tied a bow. Looked lovely on each table. Also, made a photo frame collage of photos from when she was born to the Christening day (3 months). People said how nice it was!

Christening cake on separate table, table covered with white cloth and flowers on it.

Get the godparents to help. Train them now.

Agree balloons. Can also tie them together with parcel ribbon and put them highish up in corners. White and yellow would be lovely.
