Be my bear : dd seems to like the idea for her seventh birthday (in July, I know, I know......), planning to only invite favourite friends (probably no more than 10 children in total), and I like to do parties at home.
What do you think?
have you used this company and is it any good?

Not that company but I'm sure I know people who've had a "build a bear workshop" party. 6yo girls I think.

Soupy thank you I am for ever in your debt for having posted on this!

Yes they did

(although as I have boys, I am only relating this secondhand!)

It looks similar to the Bear Factory. My 6 year old had her last birthday party at the Bear Factory in Bluewater and it was a huge success. The girls loved the bears and we had an absolutely brilliant party leader - she kept them entertained and occupied with party games etc and then we took them home for tea.

aha!! thanks Yorkiegirl.
Last year we spent about £80 on a great puppet show (at home again), so I don't mind spending about the same again.

Following Yorkiegirl's comment it was quite expensive but no more than cinema and Pizza hut would have been. We kept the numbers down by limited car space to get them there so there were 6 of them in total which was perfect - they each won a game and a prize.

One other point in it's favour - because of the bears there are no party bags - I would rather spend a bit more on something they want than less on plastic tat.

MrsWobble, dh and I will be the party leaders.....
I think we will also do a treasure hunt, not sure what kind of theme yet. Maybe linked to finding all the bits we need for making the bears?

totally agree on no party bags! and we will eat the cake as part of the birthday tea (as always, particularly as last year dd asked for a pavlova!!)

the bear factory is good when they have the speacial offers on, I wouldn't fancy being responsible for too many kids in a shop though so a home version sounds good.
