I'm stumped. I've hired the village hall so there's plenty of room for them to run around. Only thing I can think of so far is to get them to make Thunderbirdr style hats (24 6-7 year olds - is taht a good idea??).
Anyone help?? Please!!

tell everyone it is thunderbird themed and fancy dress is welcome but not necessary? tjhat gives them a chance to be a bit thunderbirdy, but not pressured into having to make costumes!

Yes - that's why I thought about making hats - and maybe the sash thingies. Just don't know about games that can be linked in even the most tenuous way to Thunderbirds.

could you do pin the hat on the thunderbird or something?

pass the parcel with thunderbird gifts?

have found some website which sell Thunderbirds party stuff - ie plates, cups, napkins tabelclothes etc.

try this one

Alsp found this which looks great - your DS could help with the preparation for his party.

Is Captain Scarlett from thunderbirds .. because if he is they are selling captain scarlett pjs at adams for dress-up?

LIZS · 06/12/2005 13:55

Twiglett, shame on you ! No, he's from Captain Scarlett.

How about a grid with island and sea painted on it and children have to choose a square (stick named flags in) to locate the Hood's submarine - nearest wins.
Fishing game to "rescue" a boat or plane from a bucket or bowl.
Make oversized jigsaws by copying pictures of the Thunderbirds (from a comic is ideal) and stick on card. Cut into six pieces and the teams take turns to roll a dice , get the piece of the matching number and assemble their puzzle (might be too fiddly for 24 kids though)

Hats and sashes sound good. ds had a TB themed one for his 3rd but we limited it to blue and yellow, balloons, plates etc and cake. The Entertainer had cheap costumes a little while back.

Lizs - these are some good ideas! I'm planning to split them into teams anyway so can always revolve them (assuming I get enough helpers - last year my brother and his wife were meant to help but left at the start as they couldn't cope with the noise!!)
How can I adapt the "mummy" game to a Thunderbirds theme - I know the kids will like it?
