Can I ask for your valued opinions please...?

I'm new here, hope I'll be able to contribute to this great site in future. For now I'll be very grateful if you could help.

I've been helping my 22 yr old son starting a new business in online party supplies & gifts. So far we haven't bought too much stock, so to avoid expensive mistakes (which we can't afford), I'd be very grateful if you could answer these questions:-

1. Do you agree that generally most parents prefer to have their kids parties at play centres/hall, etc, with younger kids (up to age 5?) parties at home?

1. If you have your kids parties at home, what would you buy in terms of party supplies & decorations?

1. How much would you spend on party bags? And what type of things would you want to include in them?

3. I normally buy everything around a theme such as princess plates, cups, napkins, table cover etc.

1. V young - home; pre-school to about 7 - hall; older - outings or party at home with smaller numbers

2.Balloons/streamers/banner, disposable plates/napkins/cups and party bags. 3.If at playcentre - probably nothing as all provided. If at hall, as no.2, probably more streamers etc.

1. Age (and nos at party) dependent, £3ish for pre-school. Sweets, toy or book, accessory/stickers, pen
2. Online if organised enough, party shop if last minute or actual time to shop in daytime!

1. Very young (pre-school) at home with family only invited.

Infant age - play area, about 12 invited. Junior and older - activity with friends rather than a party. A couple in invited. (Still do a separate family party at home for all birthdays though)

1. For home parties I buy

Character/theme napkins, tablecloth, banner, party bags, helium balloon.

1. For play centre parties I don't buy anything as I go for places that provide everything.

1. Party bags are provided by the play places I book parties at. The party bags I do for the home party usually contain bubbles, some small item of choc or sweets, birthday cake, stickers, pen and notebook. I don't like things that break instantly or that make an horrendous amount of noise.

1. I tend to pick up party items at the supermarket or buy online.

Depends on the person and the quality/value of the gift.
