pass the parcel for twenty 3-4yr olds, would you do 2 parcels?

Wondering if it may be easier to do 2 parcels at same time in the same circle rather than 1? Any pass the parcel experts out there?

Yikes, you're a braver woman than me! Grin

I'd do one. Half of them will wander off anyway.

I would do 2 groups of 10 and pass the parcels round at the same time. I would aslo put small pressies in some of the layers. Also count the layers and use a different paper for the last layer.

BertieBotts · 21/06/2011 19:50

Two circles of 10, yes. Also don't forget to alternate wrapping paper and newspaper for the layers so they don't accidentally rip two off.

DilysPrice · 21/06/2011 19:52

If you're doing the crowdpleasing thing of raisins/sweeties in-between each layer and making sure everyone gets one then that's very tricky with 2 simultaneous parcels in the same ring, or even with two in different rings.

purepurple · 21/06/2011 19:58

Not if you have an adult in each circle overseeing things.

OddBoots · 21/06/2011 19:58

If it was me I'd have:

Two rings of 10. Play pass the teddy and have the prizes in a 'lucky-dip' bucket. If you've already had a prize then pass it on to the next child who hasn't.

But I'm sure lots would think that's a horrible way to do it.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 21/06/2011 20:01

I would also have 2 groups.

Never prizes in the layers though - it's awful! No point in winning!

Gingerbics · 27/06/2011 11:52

Thanks so much for the advice, thats really helped. Think I may be brave then and go for 2 circles, 2 parcels or maybe a lucky dip stylee affair.
Much appreciated X

oooh i love the pass the teddy idea - i was wondering how you do it with a prize every time if you're not sure of the exact number of guests until they turn up - as it seems not everyone rsvps...

UniS · 16/07/2011 20:03

two or three parcels, 2 or three rings, more layers than children, should get everyone a turn.

Haribolicious · 16/07/2011 20:14

Am liking 'pass the teddy' idea too....saves on wrapping! Definitely do 2 (or 3) circles and do lucky dip or a sweet jar for each 'layer' and then one main prize. It can turn into a nightmare as kids wander off, get bored and 'forget' to pass it on etc so the less time they have to wait their turn the better! Good luck Wine

We do pass the teddy/ sweetie bag/ etc at school for the Xmas party, much easier than trying to wrap a prize in 30 layers of paper! The parcel ends up too big for most of the children to pass anyway, even if you do two they get quite big.
