She doesn't really have everything, but as a 3rd DC and 2nd DD, there is nothing she needs. We have plenty of toys, and lots of clothes. Shes not really big on playing with toys anyway - more of a socialite - chats to us and her older siblings. The one thing she does really like is pushing her dollies in a stroller...but she has them already!

My parents are getting her a duvet cover set which she needs, but probably wont be very interested in! I wont get her much, but I'm just after a few little things for her to open on her birthday that will be fun for her. I have a new board book and a Maisy DVD already.

TIA :)

A bubble wand, seeds to plant, craft things, some dolls clothes. Does she like dressing up -her first princess dress? Visit to the Build a Bear shop to make her own birthday teddy?

bubbles are a great idea! We already have plenty of dolls clothes and craft things - although maybe some new crayons would be good. Teddy idea is sweet, but I can't let any more stuffed toys enter trhe house!

ds3 is 2 next month - we're having the same issue except 3rd boy! considering a better sandpit as he loves being outside, I'm going to get him one of those battery powered dogs or rabbits that kind of hops/walks along the floor, couple of bits of clothing as it nice for him to have his own rather than all hand ons, do the girls have a dolls house, train set, duplo or similar set that you could add too? I've asked my parents to get ds3 something extra for his wooden trains ie engine shed as he loves them....
ds1 had a play house for the garden for his birthday - makes a great shed too for the toy kitchen and work bench...
ds2 had a micro scooter for his 2nd birthday was scooting very well by the time he was 2.5 years...
Is there anything you really wanted to buy dd1 or ds1 but couldn't justify becuase of cost and could by now? thats how ds2 had a duplo train for his second birthday and ds3 ended up with happy land rocket for Chritsmas Grin always wanted them but they seem really expensive...

something different for outside in the summer? If she likes her dolls, what about a doll's cradle? But really, she won't know what you've spent on her so maybe just a few little things to open e.g. A ball with her fave characters on it; new jigsaw; bubble bath... when DS was 2 we didn't know what to get him so just got him a Thomas the Tank Engine ball and a plastic truck, about £5 in total - just something to open on the day, planning to get something bigger later - but he loved them so much we didn't get anything else! Spent the money saved a zillion times over since then tho!

something for the garden? money? my mum thinks i am terrible for giving the ds's money, but i have 3 of them and we have everything and the money will come in handy when they are older!
we also used some of it a while ago for buying new scooters for them, so it does get used on stuff

Girls are a mystery to me as I have 2 boys, but friends with girls have got them things like a dolly high chair and dolly cot which they seem to spend hours playing with.

A billibo or money into her account?

Astrophe · 15/05/2011 04:43

thanks everyone for answering. - yes, its just a few little fun things for her to open on the day that I'm after. She hasn't got a bank account and I can't see myself depositing into one often enough to bother starting one, though I'll mention it to DH and see what he thinks. I think we'll just 'save' the money by not spending it now, and when her intsrests become more apperent during the year we can get her something then.

We already have a dolls cot, a stroller and a pram...argh! She does like them, but we don't need anything more along those lines.

Will get some bubbles, a ball is a good idea (always losing them!), some new crayons and maybe leave it at that. I might think of something else between now and birthday, which is not until July, but I'm due to have a baby then, so trying to get organised now as if its left to DH she wont have a single gift to open, which would make me sad (though possibly she wouldn't care!).

Do you have a play till or other shop bits? My DC (5, 4 and nearly 2) enjoy playing shops together, I just keep small boxes from teabags, biscuits etc for them to 'buy'. It's about the only thing they play without scrapping at the moment!

A book. You can never have too many.
