1st birthday party in a park?

I live close to Greenwich Park and am thinking of having my daughter's 1st birthday party there. Just a small group of adults plus babies, with rugs, sandwiches, toys etc. In theory it sounds lovely, but do you think it would be a logistical nightmare having it in the park? ie, access to toilets, people getting uncomfortable sitting on the ground (though I could take along some fold-up chairs)? If so, does anybody know anywhere around Blackheath/Greenwich that would make a good location? We live in a top floor flat and have a small garden that isn't attached to the house.

My ds had his 2nd, 3rd and 5th birthdays in the park (stupidly, I organised an entertainer and hired a hall for his 4th but learnt my lesson and went back to the park idea!). Each party was a huge success, very relaxing and enjoyable.

Lots of big parks have toilet facilities and a cafe or picnic area if people didn't want to sit on the ground, although I can't see any of that being a problem.

Unfortunately, I don't know that area of London but I hope you find a good spot for your dd's birthday!

Oh, definitely go to the park. People can walk to the loo or bring fold up chairs if they wish. It's just fingers crossed for the weather!

The rose garden is a good spot as there are no dogs. We have held all dd's parties just down the road in a little park and they've been great.
