Bear making parties help!

Ok so DD has asked for a bear making party for her 5th birthday. I was considering build a bear, but am not so keen on being in the shop on a busy saturday afternoon for a party.

I have seen that you can do you own bear building parties. Has anyone done this? Was it good? Do you think I could buy the kits and do it myself or am I better off hiring an entertainer? Any recommendations for a bear making company?

TBH, if I was going to do it I' just go with Build a Bear. I am willing to bet that is actually what your DD wants rather than any old bear building party. Unfortunately.

Actually, she asked for it at home, but I can't see how we would be able to fit them all in!

I am wondering if that is just as easy as hiring a hall, entertainer etc. Especially in terms of costs. Its not a massive build a bear in our town though and I feel abit funny about a party in a shop on a Saturday.

I wonder if afterschool would be too much for them? It would be quieter and they would probably have the whole shop.

I did one a few years ago & got the kit from here. The prices were good & she was able to supply the mix of animals that I specified. I bought the smaller animals with t-shirt making sets and also got them each a carry/sleeping bag which you can see on this link

We did one at home, just bought the kits, but I can't remember where from! They came with the "skins", a big bag of stuffing, a little satin "make a wish" star to add to the stuffing, a neck ribbon, and a little gift bag for the finished article.

It was great, actually, no party bags needed! You do need someone permanently stationed to help with the stuffing; not as easy as it looks for small fingers.

Hi I did one for DD for her 4th bday party as part of an arty crafty party, we had decorating teddys t shirts as another activity with fabric pans and glitter etc. It was really successful and 36 children came, we also did decorating cupcakes, decorating big craft bags to take stuff home and painting/decorating flower pots. It was fairly relaxed and they sort of made their way around in groups with party tea in the middle. I got all my stuff from Nellies art parties online shop and they were really helpful, we stuffed all the heads and limbs the night before on their recommendation and it was definately the right thing to do as they would have been really bored otherwise.i hired church hall as so many children.
