Spooky stories/activities: need ideas about what to do!

I have stupidly agreed to do a "Spooky Stories" stall/activity for the Hallowe'en pary at ds' primary school (on 26 October).

I had a vague recollection of reading about a way to tell stories using peeled grapes as eyeballs and other "touch feely" things to freak out the little ones (nicely of course ).

I did also think I would be able to call upon Mumsnet to help out!

My mind has now gone a blank as to what to do , so I desparately need help.

Can people give me ideas about a) stories to tell and b) what sort of "props" I can use and c) how to do it!

I am NOT a natural story teller!

Ds is in Primary 1, so this is my first epxerience of a a primary school party. The whole school can come, so the kids could be anything between 5 and 12.

As I understand it, there will be lots of different "stalls" or "activities" (eg dunking for apples, biting the doughnut) that the kids can wander between. My "spooky stories" will be one of the options. I think I only need to have something that lasts a maximum of 15 minutes, so they can move on to something else,

HEEEEEEELLLPPPPPPP!!!!!!!

tell ghost stories. Wish I could come as I'm good at the one about the doll You have to get the voice and expression just right... muhahahahahaa.

Just act and and act some more and practice in front of a mirror or anyone who'll listen, your kids maybe? Pretend you're someone else if it helps? Try to have someone who's storytelling you admire in your mind.

You got a camcorder? You could video yourself to see how to improve.

here is a Yahoo link for you to "troll" through

this

think it would be important to look scary

perhaps a mask that has two faces... back of head and face so you can have a 360 degree turning head... ooohhh scary!

good ideas paps, plus don't smile. They have a brilliant storyteller at halloween at our local railway museum and he's very pan faced. He's always dracula though. Morticia would be good. I once went as her but my version had a bit too much cleavage for kids

I'm getting quite jealous now, I WANNA DO IT!!!!

Think I can feel a halloween party coming on, just don't tell my vicar

What about the Meg and Mog stories, or Pumpkin Soup, not spooky but good for this time of year.
