Sunday morning birthday party...?

Good idea? Bad idea? The hall I would choose to hire is busy every saturday with regular groups but free on a Sunday - I hadn't even considered it so am now thrown (doesn't take much these days!)

What does everyone think? Will anyone come? Thinking 11.30am to 1pm...

TBH I think it would only be a problem for those who go to church on a Sunday morning, otherwise should not be a problem.

should be fine - lots have this time

Sounds like a good time, just be aware that lots of boys age 6+ go to rugby/football on a Sun morning.

Thank you! They are all 4 to 5 so should be mostly ok with football etc, and going to do a picnic - y lunch for them. Thought my plans were derailed for a minute there - I have only just entered the world of birthday parties so i'm not really sure what the usual thing is - hooray for mumsnet :)

I'm an entertainer and there is just as much demand for Sunday lunchtime as any other at the weekend. The only problem is halls can be harder to get as church halls don't often let out then. You've got the hall so you're sorted.

Lunchtime parties are always better for younger children. It means they won't drive you crazy with excitement all day, waiting for their party! Any hopefully you can have a relaxing afternoon and a glass of winewhile they open the pressies Grin

I'm going to one this Sunday. It's 11-1. Good time for a party, IMO.

Hooray! Thank you :) (feel like i've already successfully held the party now!!)

A word of warning - provide food for the adults too. I went to one party on a Sunday between 11 and 1 and there was barely enough food for the children to have a sandwich each. The adults were really hungry and could only watch the food being eaten! Even if it's tea and biscuits, I'd provide something for parents if they're staying.
