Am being super organised and have just booked DDs party for end of Jan.
£54 for 15 children in a sports hall, 2 bouncy castles, loads of soft play stuff and one party assistant.

I want to do the rest for really cheap.
Food, i was thinking 2 types of sandwich. Cocktail sausages. crisps, cucumuber, tomatoes, carrot, Mini Pizza.
Mini cupcakes, party ring biscuits and ????
Sqauash to drink.

party bags see to vary so much. What is best to go in that doesnt look too much, but also look enough?

Some plastic tat x2
balloon
sweets ( one mini thing)
Stickers?

have decided not to put cake in as it just gets all squished up.

Some parties we have been there seems to have been a small fortune spent on party bags, they have a book in them?? and then some you just get a bag of sweets.

Plus, DD will have just started school, so will be inviting new people...

So - for 15 children... what do we think i could do it for?

Try Pound Shop / Poundland..loads of plastic tatt, sweets, sticker, crayons etc and snack foods..I always shop there when I'm doing party bags etc..

Other party food ideas :- Fruit kebabs, cheesy twists, wedges, individual mini jellies...

Punch balloons are great -around 10 for £1 in most £shop type places.

Also Glowsticks are £1 for tubes of 15-20.

Not doing jellies. It will be a sit on the floor type thing, so i can see lots being spilt then children slipping all over the place.
Like the fruit kebabs. Maybe a platter... no sticks with pointy tips :)

Will check out the pound shop. Thanks :)

I wish I could add something helpful, but DD2 has her party on Saturday and it has cost me an absolute bleedin fortune - even though I'm doing it at home (sucker).
It's her 7th b'day and the first party she has ever had. It may also be the last. I am shocked at how much I have to spend to have a decent party. Have to say, though, the main expense seems to have come from party bags, so anything you can do on the cheap has to be good - multipacks of pencils/sweets etc. Don't go OTT like I have.

DD went to a party in Aigust with no party bags was lovely.

DS had his party this weekend.

They all had a Tesco colouring book (47p iirc) and Tesco Value colouring pencils (27p I think), a Kinder chocolate bar (99p for a pack of 6), a balloon (99p for 25) and a bit of cake.

I had bought glo sticks (£1.25 for 12) but forgot to put them in so they'll get used on Bonfire night instead!

Excellent, so probably £12 for party bags.
and £20 for food.

Fab.

Would like to go with the whole ' no party bag thing' but they love them dont they.
