We've booked a bouncy castle for next weekend, but I'm aware that we need to have a contingency plan in case of bad weather. We're having 11 4-year-olds and 2 or 3 2-year-olds. Will probably just get the track out for the younger ones and do a few games for the older ones. Any ideas? Don't want to prepare too much, as if it's fine it won't be needed.

I am sure this suject has been done to death, but I am rubbish at searching the archive and have only found questions about 4 year old girls. If anyone can link to previous threads, please do!

I bought a treasure hunt from Lello and Monkey for DSs party. Would work equally well indoors if you didn't mind them traipsing round the house.

I'd keep it really simple for 4 year olds. The parties ds has been to have never attempted more than a couple of organised games. They are usually along the lines of pass the parcel or musical bumps etc.

Thank you.

Feedthegoat - what else would you do with the rest of the time?

I would also keep it simple.

Does b castle have a roof? If so you're good to go really.

Games - treasure hunt is good, pass the parcel, musical bumps, maybe some simple craft - make a mask from paper plate, cut out a spiral snake, make and decorate a party hat etc.

Best games are ones that involve all of them at once so pin the tail on the donkey not great with that number IME.

You could try wriggly worms which is the opposite of musical bumps. Ime boys font like games that involve dancingso they lie on floor and wriggle like worms then jump up when music stops

In all honesty chickbean I'd just leave them be. A group of 3 and 4 year olds are perfectly capable of having a fun time on their own. I have 3 friends I have known since school and between us we have 6 dc who love nothing more than just being together and making their own games up.

I've noticed at the parties we have been to they seem more likely to lose interest if the organised stuff goes on too long. They just want to play with their friends.
