If your child had a stable, non abusive, upbringing, but has mental health problems as an adult, were there signs of this when they were growing up?

If yes, what were the signs?

Yes there were. Very silent child, would cry silently rather than tell us, minor self harm in teenage, panic attacks at school until I able to go altogether

Looking back, yes, but not significant things just with the benefit of hindsight I can see how they were early signs.

Yes, there were early signs. Low self esteem and anxiety were the main ones.

Yes definitely, looking back I can see there were problems from very early.

from a siblings point of view yes there were signs when we were younger

self esteem issues and always struggled with every day life and socials etc

he was a complex character and still is
looking back it was definitely obvious there were fairly big issues but forty years ago kids were expected to be quiet and tow the line

makes me sad to think it could have been different for him now if we were in these times with people recognising mental health in chikdren
