Mums with Autism group?

I am looking for somewhere social where I can overcome my anxiety as an adult empty nester with autism/adhd. Lots of hobbies and projects on the go and a huge amount of overwhelm at times. Worries about young adult children (23 and 20) travelling solo abroad. General fatigue and aches and pains. Loss of mine and husband's parents. Also loss of contact with kids' friends' parents due to being a carer for many years and not being consistently social enough for neurotypicals (partly due to my autism, but also because I was genuinely exhausted).

P.S. I am bursting with enthusiasm with my hobbies and happy to do nature gardening / art /crafts etc

If you have a look under the SN Section @CherryBarb, there is a ND MNers section. It’s a bit quiet in there but I’m sure you’ll get some replies Smile

It sounds as though you've had a lot on your plate over the years. Have you looked for any local groups linked to your hobbies? Gardening, art and crafts can be a lovely way to meet people without the pressure of formal socialising. Also, if you're looking for support around autism or ADHD as an adult, Autism Detect and ADHD Certify both have useful resources that might be worth exploring.

Are you on Facebook
They usually have local groups on
My area has an autism group, but it's only for children
Or rather only for parents who have a child with autism, not for adults with autism.which is a shame ,as I'd quite like a group for adults to

What about being a volunteer gardener? I know someone who does this at our local hospice. I think the National Trust and similar places do this too. You can combine your hobby with people of like mind.
