Ds21 was the model child, pupil and all round great kid/teen. Did really well in school, worked from age of 14 (on a Saturday), saved money. Wasn't really interested much in forging a social life, but had plenty of friends.
After A levels he had a gap year as he didn't know what he wanted to do, and things have gone down hill from there. He started a (very competitive) uni course, did no work for it (as "studying is boring) and started getting very pie in the sky ideas about making a career out of a competive sport that he started weeks earlier. Dropped out of that course and started another (competitive) one. Says he hates it and wants to drop out as" university is a waste of time".
His attitude with us has become appalling. He's rude, constantly rolls his eyes, barely converses with us and seems angry to be in our presence. He's out with friends constantly. It just seems that he's become the stereotypical teen about 7 years late. He doesn't drink/smoke and I really don't think he's taking drugs.
Can anyone relate and give me some hope that this is just a phase?
