or maybe they're pampers - can't remember without checking.

Anyhow, we've still got absolutely zero cash to our name, and DS2 (20 months) is flat out of nappies but I've got 2 packs of swim nappies in the cupboard (that I won in a competition a month or so back)..........could I use the swim nappies during the day - will they hold everything in????

Would you like me to send you my Asda pack, QoQ? Honestly no problem!

Gillian - thanks - but it's ok, we'll survive

Might try Morrisons tomorrow - only a 10 minute walk from our house.

MTS - definitely - I know DS2 is MUCH more advanced than his brother was at the same age, but think it's just a lot early to be potty training yet

Wheres that thread on teaching your child natural elimination or something ie no nappies you sense when they are pooing and hold them over a potty?

Seriously QoQ's we could all send you a nappy by post and you would have loads I would be up for that!

mumtosomeone · 17/08/2005 22:29

Asda do nappies in their changing rooms!

popsycal · 17/08/2005 22:30

i have a full pack minus 1 of tesco large nappies here,,,

colditz · 17/08/2005 22:31

Pop a couple of folded up face flannel in the swim nappy. This does work to an extent.

QueenOfQuotes · 17/08/2005 22:32

NO - I won't accept nappies (packs, half packs or singles LOL) from anyone on MN so there .

Go on, give us your address and we'll all send you a few

QueenOfQuotes · 17/08/2005 22:34

lol - DH would die of mortification if I let anyone do that

Spoil sport! He doesn't have to know

I have actually hear of people rinsing out swim nappies and using them again. If you did the flannel thing you could re-use them. Is that too gross???

QueenOfQuotes · 17/08/2005 22:39

oh but he would Gillian - his new job he works afternoons and evenings.......so he's there when the post arrives - and he'd know something was up when he had an odd assortment of nappies to put on DS2 when he changes him

Would offer to send you washing powder so you could use the cloth nappy-ish idea...but not sure how Royal Mail would deal with white powder in the mail... You might have stuff for this in house though?
laundry

Worth a try?

QueenOfQuotes · 17/08/2005 23:01
  • got the water - that's still coming out the taps - but none of the rest.

I don't want to do washing anyhow, I used my last reserves getting every single last piece of washing in the house done and now I'm going to sit on my ar*e and enjoy it

oh and I tried desperately hard to talk DH round to cloth nappies when pg with DS2 but he was having none of it, even ordered some samples in of various colourful fun looking nappies. LOL

NO, i've tried it on return from swimming one day, when i forgot standard one they are horrendous and somehow, everything gets wet!!

Probably better with a teatowel!!

QueenOfQuotes · 18/08/2005 20:09

well update - put him in one this morning (8.30am) was still ok at 12.30 when we changed him again. Put him down for a nap and we discovered they don't like being 'sideways' on - he was pretty wet when he woke up. Change him again and TBH don't know whether it worked or not - as he decided to tip the entire contents of his and his brothers juice over himself and sit in the puddle he'd made (they both have those 'sports' type drink bottles from Morrisons)

I've put 2 on him tonight and with the 2nd one you can see that it 'pads' the edges more......so fingers crossed he's not "too" wet in the morning LOL.
