So do you get better results depending on which way round you do it?

DS is 4 months and EBF and uses BumGenius V3 if that makes a difference.

Thanks.

Here we rinse, wash, rinse again too. No poo stains or smells here, and nappies are onto DC2 now. DC have sensitve skin - sod the reservoir levels!

CharlottesClan · 04/07/2010 18:19

my dc have sensitive skin too

i also find without the after rinse my machine makes the powder build up in about 5 washes, and i have to strip wash ones a fortnight. thats a pain..

I read on washerhelp.co.uk that most modern washing machines are poor at rinsing, the designers have sacrificed rinsing to minimise water usage and hence gain better (AAA etc.) efficiency ratings for their WMs. I noticed this when I replaced my 16yr old basic machine with a modern efficient WM, soap suds remain. It is particularly noticable when I'm rinsing handwashed stuff (I'm lazy, I soak stuff in hand wash solution, squeeze/hand wring it, then machine rinse), this solution has no antifoam added, and even on second machine rinse programme with high water level there's loads of foam in there.

I'm a bit of a geek for the detail!

yes bubsmaw, i much prefered my old machine to the new one. infact i think the new one is pretty rubbish for washing nappies in

4andnotout · 05/07/2010 11:24

DD4 is teething at the moment and her nappies are vile so ours in rinse, rinse, wash, rinse, rinse at the mo!

My machine is 14 yrs old and rinses really well - apparently it has something called fuzzylogic which rinses till no suds.
