Pull ups and nappies seem to leak more often than not due to the sheer volume of wee .

Can anyone recommend a brand / type of disposable nappy/pull up that's particularly absorbent?

We use the Nature Baby nappies for dd (15m) who pee's loads and loads...goes most nights with out leaks.
And when my sister visited (from states) with her dd (3yo) she used them and was very impressed and even took them home with her...

We have same problem, find the huggies night time nappies (XL) are ok, otherwise lift DS at 10pm which makes the nappy less full.

If you are willing to try cloth..the bamboo ones are great, as are the hemp AIO's. For extra absorbency I would go with a pocket style nappy as you can put in an extra padding.

We were using Pampers Baby Dry but kept leaking so have now switched to Huggies Superdry no;6 and so far no leaks.

Fleece soakers or longies are good for going over the top of the nappy - they repel the liquid. They are basically fleece pants (or trousers.) I got mine from Bespoke Baby Room but if you google 'fleece soaker' you'll find a few places you can buy them.

Have you tried two nappies? It works for my DS.

BikeRunSki · 30/06/2010 22:25

Bambo nappies work very well for DS - 21 months and guzzles the best part of a pint of milk before bed.

bebemoohatessnot · 01/07/2010 08:00

My sister was using bamboo nappies with a hemp soaker too actually. She swore by the hemp liners for her 'super soaker' babies.

My ds is 2.10 and Tescos Active fit ones are brilliant. He is potty trained in the day but no where near going through the night, perhaps because he insists on having 9 ounces of milk before bedtime. He never leaks yet it is alwys so heavy and full in the morning.

I have just tested every nappy on the market (I'm not kidding you, I spent hundreds) and was unable to find one to match the fit and absorbancy of the old Pampers Active Fit style that screwed up so monumentally when modified. I have now swapped to cloth and it is unbelievable.

  • If you buy 1 cloth nappy, e.g. Waitrose sell a single one called a Pop-in for £15. and buy 2 bamboo inserts online you can change the fit around the legs and waist to ensure no leaks by tightening it, and make it more absorbant by adding extra 'boosters' (I have used a muslin cloth when running out of boosters). Because it is so adjustable it doesn't leak.
Yes you have to wash it, but they dont take long to dry, can be washed with your regular laundry/ towels and only use a teaspoon of washing liquid (I use Waitrose non-bio) and no fabric conditioner. It really isn't the hassle I thought it was going to be. And that nasty rash Pampers gave him has gone. Pampers loyal for 13-months, now loving cloth and leak-free

I have that problem too my DD1 wears knickers during the day but at night she has pulls up on cos she hasn't mastered that part yet. I have tried every pull up make going but none do a thing what I did find that helped is bed mats and waterproof pants over the pull ups they help keep it in and stop the bed getting wet too.

Suziewoos · 14/07/2010 15:33

WTG Turtle maybe you should share that with Pampers PR lol
