erm. hopefully not. I only get good marks when I get the question right! It's maths though so it's clear cut... if it's essays, it's subjective

Bumblingbovine · 29/06/2010 12:24

She shouldn't and if she is a professional at all she won't.

If she has given you good grades it is most likely because you have earnt them

KatyMac · 29/06/2010 12:40

It's neither/both

Business & systems

Oh

I get better marks each homework

I was to give up & the man said "just do what you can & don't try to make it perfect" - so I did

I never give marks for difficult circumstances but I do sometimes really, really hope those students will do OK and I would tend to be lenient on extensions.

The nature of the student body (e.g. older) tends to mean that there are at least 2-3 in every group with really difficult circumstances. You couldn't give them all extra marks even if you wanted too - you'd be rumbled by the monitors!

That's good news

Is it normal to get better over the length of the course?

I think that's the plan in fact. Other wise what would be the point of the feedback?!

KatyMac · 30/06/2010 21:03

OK

So 54, 60, 69, 80 is fairly standard?

80? Wooo-hooo!

Dunno - I tended to go up about 10% over a course. But I twigged them fairly early on. Looks like you'vegot it sussed now. Fab!

winnybella · 30/06/2010 21:08

I don't know if it's standart, but I think people do tend to improve their performance. I know I had this year a 21-point difference between marks!

winnybella · 30/06/2010 21:09

*standard

KatyMac · 30/06/2010 21:19

I did so much less work for each subsequent piece of work - it just seems odd

People do tend to improve over the course. You wouldn't suddenly get 80 for no reason. You should assume you earned it.

Study can be quite theraputic for depression, I have found. Hope it works for you!

KatyMac · 01/07/2010 08:35

Ok - you just panic
