Which disposables are most absorbent?

I'm a bit scared to ask this, as all the other threads in this topic are about reusables, but I wonder if anybody has found a very absorbent disposable nappy for night time use?

DS is 2, and seems to drink loads in the evening, and most nights he'll want another drink in the small hours. So there could be over a pint of 'liquid' coming out of him overnight. I'm struggling to find a nappy that can cope with this volume of liquid, and he normally wakes up with soaking wet pyjamas, sheet and sometimes duvet cover and duvet too.

I've tried Sainsburys own brand size 6, and Huggies Superdry size 5. He's got a little bottom so would fit into anything bigger than a size 3, but obviously the absorbency isn't sufficient.

I'm not against using reusables, but those I have used previously have been even less absorbent than disposables, and I don't want to be spending loads of money on expensive nappies when he'll (hopefully) be toilet trained in a few months time.

Can anybody recommend a good nappy that won't leak? I can't carry on washing the sheets every day!!!

I use Pampers baby dry. Most nights they are fine. If you have no success, you could try 'doubling up'. Put a smaller nappy on first then a larger one on top. If you put the second one on back-to-front you may get even better protection.

You could try a pair of fleece shorts over the disposible like Pumpkin pants or Bebesnuggles like these

I use Tesco own brand and have very rarely had a leak. DD also has a drink before bedtime and consumes a lot during the day so she does wee a lot.

my 20 week old out wees all brands of disposabloes overnight.
i was lucky as i use reusables in teh day anyway and found a combination that worked from my stash.
you could see if your local council has a nappy library you could borrow from altho doubling up on dispoables is a good idea.

I've got some reusables from the nappy scheme. They last about an hour during the day, so we don't use them much!

The trouble is, with a 20 week old you can just move up to the next size nappy. When they're 2, and they out-wee the thirstiest nappies in the supermarket, there's nowhere to go except the extortionally priced specialist nappies.

I'll experiment with the other suggestions - thankyou!

Couldn't get my DS overnight in a disposable since he was about 6 weeks. I use Bambinex bamboo nappies with a double bamboo booster and Motherease airflow wraps - pretty much bombproof.

Wool or fleece wraps can also help with heavy wetters because they allow evapouration.

Bambo have never let me down. I use reusables during the day, and Bambo at night. DS (21 months) drinks a lot in the evenings too, and have never had to do a mighttime change, or woken up to wet sheets.

Try a fleece soaker over the disposable maybe or a waterproof wrap
