I am looking for translations of 4 phrases in as many different langauges as I can but have found, to my cost, that google lets me down.

I need

Please write your name.

I can wrtite my name.

What is your name?

My name is .....

If anyone can help me I would very grateful. Thanks.

Please specify - is the imaginary person being spoken to a child or an adult? Because, asyou have already seen, in a lot of languages this makes a difference.

Re French debate, yes, the "s" is right. And "comment tu t'appelles" and "comment t'appelles-tu" are both equally right (as is "tu t'appelles comment?" but that is probably not formal enough for these purposes.)

Again for French I would prefer "je sais ecrire" to "je peux ecrire" (with proper accents in place, obviously!)

Japanese - transliteration

Please write your name
O-namae wo kaite kudasai

I can write my name
Watashi no namae wo kakemasu

What is your name?
Anata no namae wa nan desu ka?

My name is
Watashi no namae wa ...... desu.

The Japanese word for name looks similar to the English, but there is no connection whatsoever, interestingly.

Dutch already been done, so will add some Thai (don't pretend to be fluent, but these phrases I get by) For politiness add 'ka' at the end of phrases when you're female and 'khrap' if you're male

Russian (don't know how to type in Cyrillic) - I am assuming you are speaking to a child and/or a close friend. I think this is right - been a while since I used my Russian!
