How much clothes do you bring on holiday for your DC

We're going away for one week to somewhere hot. Do I really need to bring 7 pairs of daytime shorts/7 daytime t-shirts and 7 pairs of evening shorts/7 evening t-shirts. Haven't been abroad for a few years but wherever we go I seem to run out of clean clothes for them and don't really want to be doing washing whilst on holiday.

How much stuff do you bring for your DC?

if you dont want to do washing then yeah i would bring as you said, unless you're happy to buy more there? depends how many clothes do your dc normally get through @ home?

Depends what kind of place we're staying in really. If in a hotel or a caravan where there aren;t convenient washing faciltiies, then I'd normally be inclined to take more. you'll be surprised how mucky they get, particularly with sticky suntan lotion, ice-cream, etc. etc.

If in a cottage, gites, etc. where you might have a washing machine easily available and good weather, it takes no time to sling on a quick wash and there's no need to iron, so I take a lot less.

Decisions will also depend on whether you're restricted with luggage or space. We caravaned (static) in France last year and because we took the car, I bunged loads in. Holidays on planes mean that you're very restricted particularly if you have to take your own beach towels.....

Depends on age. Ds is 5 and I take enough outfits for every day plus a couple spare, secure in the knowledge that he will end up wearing more than one outfit a day some days.

Outfit a day? No way.
Washing machine or not: I would bring 3 spare day outfits plus what they are wearing, and one outfit nightwear (maybe 2 outfits if not reliably dry at night). Assuming no wash machine, I'd plan to wipe clean or handwash a few things (and otherwise they can usually wear most things at least 2 days).

Plan on wearing sandals to minimise sock use as much as possible, and bring 2-3 extra pairs of underwear.

unless you are completely restricted on luggage, then bring what you need, especially if you don't want to do any washing. sounds like you have experience of running out of clothes so i wouldn't restrict, make the holiday as stress free as possible!

kids get dirty and how big are their clothes anyway? pack light for adults we are LESS prone to getting food stains and as dirty!!
