Recommend me your changing bags

Dh got me a yummy mummy changing bag for my birthday. (yes I would rather something that was properly for me and a bit less sensible but he was trying to be thoughtful I think.)

anyhow I really don't like the yummy mummy ones- a bit too girly and actually quite heavy even when empty.

What do you have/ covet? What should I swap it for?

I use a rucksack

Much easier and cost a tenner from TK Maxx

mrsflux · 13/06/2010 09:00

Does anyone have this
what do you think of it?

Spend the change from the yummy mummy bag on a facial

I just bought a nice, big bag for all three of mine

I don't bother with special changing bags tbh

Mama What did you buy??

I have one called a hoppop. It's wonderful. It doubles as a portable high chair so is invaluable from 6 months when visiting people without a highchair. I love it.

BuzzingNoise · 14/06/2010 12:22

I bought one for a fiver at Netto and it was great. It lasted for years and lots of people commented on it. Can't remeber for the life of me what make it was though.

if it's got to be a changing bag, and it's got to be John Lewis, then this one is quite nice and handbagish.

A friend has the bababing one and says it's good, plus that has the benefit of not being too 'girly' for when your DH is the one carrying it.

Or this one - although more than doubling the cost might put your DH off...

I have the storksak olivia and love it. lots of room inside and a very clever wee pouch thing for me to keep my stuff in that's attached with a clip to the inside of the bag so I can quickly find it!

I have this Nica Bowling bag from John Lewis - it's got 3 sections and the middle one is wonderfully roomy for a changing mat, wipes and extra clothes. Only £49 and it's got everything you'd need out of a changing bag - lots of sections.

Pootles2010 · 14/06/2010 13:03

I have the bababing one, seems good but baby not here yet so we shall see! not the prettiest, but dp can use it, and the changing mat is nice and big - most of the others seemed a bit titchy tbh. Fake - i love both of those. I couldn't justify price myself, but they're beautiful, especially the second one.

I use one of DHs old work bags (sort of record bag style). Water resistant so nappies don't get wet in the rain and DH will happily carry it. It's quite nice looking (DH is a designer!) and it never gets mixed up at mums & babies.
