my boys would like me to throw a joint birthday party for them (age 7 and 5 years old), inviting half the class each, in east or north east london. does anyone have any ideas on venues? there will be 25 to 30 kids.
i have already considered tumble in the jungle in walthamstow, but i was told that it is too young for 7 year olds.
my other idea is discover in stratford, but thats it!

Swimming pool party? Ring pools local to your area and see what they offer for the age group and the cost.

thanks, but the only thing about pool parties that puts me off and probably other parents is having to get in with the kids!

Just remembered that we went to Ridgeway Park in Chingford once for one of my DS's parties.

They have an amazing little proper steam train you sit astride it. It runs on Sunday afternoons in the summer, I can't remember the exact time. The train drivers dress up in boiler suits and there's a ticket office and proper coal and steam. It's been going there since the 1940s I think.

We took a picnic box for each child, bought them three tickets each (it's about 50p per ride which lasts about 5 mins) and took park games and food for grown-ups.

You do need to take a lot of grown-ups with for safety though.

It was a fabulous party and there is nice playground equipment to play on too.

Go and check it out this afternoon!

DS's party last year was at Mudchute Farm. There's a party room which we decorated ourselves (they cleaned up afterwards). We could have ordered food from the cafe there, but did sandwiches and nibbles ourselves. The farm offered either a farm tour or to bring animals to the party room. They do ask that there are plenty of adults with the children for the farm tour to keep an eye on them.
