Hi, just a request for advice.
feeling a bit clueless about what to provide 10 4yolds for food at the end of the party (arts and crafts for an hour). it'll be 11am so i don't think it's really lunchtime. planning to have birthday cake / happy birthday singing etc and just some biscuits and fruit or does that look too stingy and should i be doing a big lunch?
DS is my eldest and doesn't get invited to many parties (different thread) so i don't have much experience....

but if it starts at 11am and craft lasts for an hour then 12noon will be near enough lunchtime wo;t it? nost of DS;s parties last 2 hrs (he's 4 too) and something more than fruit is served - just straightforward stuff - sadnwiches, sausages, sausage rolls, crisps and a maybe a few chocolate buscuits.

You need to offer lunch.

Will it be 11am to noon (ie 10am to noon party)? If so I would assume lunch would be offered.

And in fact it is more likely to be eaten than tea at 3pm IME.

I would offer a few rolls/sandwiches, lots of crisps, grapes, strawberries and raspberries, sausages, pizza, then cakes of yr choice (remember kids will just eat the icing) and party rings or similar biccies. Oh and choc fingers.

Oh well I would still offer some food if only to fill the half hour.

I might tell parents when they pick up tho, it is a slightly early time for lunch (tho when mine were that age they were usually up sooooo early that it was lunchtime by 11am!)

hmmm. dilemna. mine quite often eat lunch at 11.30, so it would kind of be lunchtime when they leave. i've already got biscuits and (have on my list to get) fruit and birtdhay cake but perhaps i will get crips, sausage rolls and something sandwichey as well then (sounds healthy!)

you will need more tiny sausages than you would believe....

My personal belief is you are not providing a meal at parties, only a snack. I'd throw some popcorn in too, this is because my dd loves making it.
