I'm sure you will understand when I say I am finding parenting a 3yo and a 1yo a tad, erm, challenging, just at the moment.

In fact I think I just want to hide under the duvet. But if someone could explain 3yo's to me I'll be enormously grateful when I come back out.

Mine have just turned 2 and 4.. and things have improved sooooo much recently.. they play doctors and mummies and daddies, they make little people lands, they do playdough together, they like the same DVDs, their bedtimes and meals are now basically the same..
Having a younger brother has taught DD some patience ( some ) and DS benefits so much from all her ramblings.. She is God to him..

It's been very tough at times along the way (My DH is practically never here from Monday to Friday) but I am so glad we bit the bullet and had them close together..

Chin up OP! You're nearly out of the woods!

I'm wading through treacle today...3.8 and 1 year old here...it's way harder now that it was a few months ago. Now number 2 is crawling and wailing if I leave the room! How does anyone leave the house (as seemingly all the advice about how not to go mad involves leaving the house) I can't get the 3 year old to walk and they both weigh a tonne if we Phil and Ted it...I'm taking heart that this is just a crap patch and it will get better!

driedapricots · 11/06/2010 14:31

oh yes..thanks ;) so i just have 2 years of hell to get through and then it will all be fine.... until they hit the teen years!!! why do we have children again..??

Jojay · 11/06/2010 14:35

It DOES get better. Mine are 3.7 and 20 months and they are SO much better than they were a few months ago. They have their squabbles but they are fewer now and they genuinely enjoy each others company.

DS1 says that DS2 is his best friend and hates going anywhere without him, it's quite touching really

Just 3 and just 1 here and I get up every morning (I would say wake up but that would imply that I'd had a nice long unbroken stretch of sleep) wishing I could call in sick and have a duvet day - unfortunately as a sahm, that's never going to happen!

Just the other day i was remembering how I got put on bed rest towards the end of my first pregnancy - and was really pissed off about it. What I wouldn't give now?!

driedapricots · 11/06/2010 15:22

get a job! i find going to work a couple of days a week is my 'holiday' - i am actually half-dreading my next maternity leave ;)

weddingseason · 11/06/2010 16:13

Unfortunately pre children i worked in childcare so think I will want to do something else when I return to paid employment in order to get that 'break'!
