Nappy rash

DD is terried but we recently tried disposables for the nighttimes (she has bad wind and we thought the terries might be impeding her passing it as she can't wriggle around as much as in a disposable)

However, she now has a nappy rash for the first time ever (she is 17 weeks) and it looks really sore Apart from never using another disposable, how can I help clear it up ? We have lots of naked time in the daytime and are using sudocrem, is there anything else I can do to help her ?

Silver liners are the best thing ive found for DD but everywhere seems to be sold out due to supplier issues try having a look around

If you use disposable wipes try switching to washable ones with just water as wipes can make it worse

Water to clean and lots of fresh air. Our dd has suffered terrible nappy rash due to constipation problem, the only thing that clears hers is Bepanthen cream. I hope she is better soon

Sudocreme seems to do the job here - used preventativly as well as when there's a rash.

Metanium always made our dd's worse

Metanium the only thing that worked in this house. Sudocreme made our DC worse.

An just use water to clean as everyone else says.

Hope your DC gets rid of it soon.

Another Metanium fan here. Sparingly.

Silk liners as well as silver ones are supposed to be good. I've been using both on DS who's had teething-induced nappy rash and it has really helped. I also use a very thin layer of pure potions nappy salve, which again seems to have helped.

I use a solution of cammomile tea with a few drops of lavender oil and a tablespoon of vegetable oil for my washable wipes. The cammomile and lavender are anti-bacterial and the oil moisturises the skin and lubricates the wipe slightly so that it's not 'scraping' across the skin.

Apparently, though, the best way to clean a baby's bottom is to put them under a tap - no skin rubbing involved. Although I think that method relies on your baby being small enough - my DS would have been too heavy even at 17 weeks!
