Can I ask about swimming nappies?

Off for our first abroad holiday this summer with 2.11 year old DS1 and 6 mth DS2.

Have never bought a swimming nappy before (always used disposable) and just wondered if anyone could make any recommendations?

Thanks!

The ones that look like a nappy & tie across the front wiil last longer than the pull on ones as more adjustable. Buy at least 2 - one on, one in the wash. Always used them & never had any problems

thanks gracek. was a bit concerned the ones with a tie may be more prone to leaking? but you've reassured me - thanks

I've used Happy Nappy with DS and found them really good.

Never buy disposables - a packet of disposable swimming nappies costs approximately the same as a reusable. If you're not fastidious I find that there are always swimming nappies in charity shops/car boot sales - normally at 10-20p.

You can use most pocket nappy outers as a swim nappy as they are just poo catchers really and even dispos dont absorb water (obviously). I would get a reuseable one that open out andnot one that goes on like trunks otherwise if your baby does a code brown when you pull em down you could end up with a baby with smeared brown legs.

Many swim schools only let you use happy nappies because anything with a net is as good as a chocolate fireguard. They seal well at the legs and waist. You can buy matching neoprene wraps which keep your baby warmer in the water, and give you something stickier to hold onto than a slippy, wet baby!

I like the Popolini ones - they're really cute, ever so soft and very adjustable and popper up, so no velcro to scratch tummies
