Application for social work course

As part of my application for this part time degree in social studies (or health & social care policy, not decided yet, they said I should apply first and then have interview to discuss which) I have to write a 500 word personal statement, I've got most of it done now but just stuck on a particular part - it says to mention any reading or activity you have undertaken in the subject area - was just wondering whether these books sound OK to include or whether I will sound ridiculous!

Will just list all the books I have read which I thought may be in some way relevant.

Hard Work (Life in low pay Britain) by Polly Toynbee - about guardian journalist who moved into a council flat and lived off the amount she would have been entitled to in benefits in between taking whichever jobs came up at the jobcentre etc.
How To Talk so Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk by Faber & Mazlish - OK it's a parenting book but about empathetic listening/talking/problem solving etc.
What Mothers Do (Especially when it looks like nothing) by Naomi Stadlen - about the importance of the mother/child bond in the first year or so
Prone To Violence by Erin Pizzey - written by the founder of Women's Aid and is about women who return to violent relationships time and again despite having support to leave. (You can read this online here if anyone is interested, but just as a warning, it contains graphic descriptions of abuse in parts.)
The Politics of Breastfeeding by Gabrielle Palmer - not entirely sure whether this is relevant at all but it seemed to fit in with the themes of some of the others. I could mention it in conjunction with the BF peer support training/work I have done.

Also have just ordered Why Does He Do That by Lundy Bancroft which is about angry and controlling men.

What do you think - which of these do you think it would be good to mention?

I wouldn't just write a list, I would write a paragraph and mention the books in passing. I would include a few comments about what you thought about each book, why you found it interesting and what you want to learn more about.

Yes I was going to put it into a paragraph, just wasn't sure if they were all relevant to include. Thanks for your reply
