Night nappies

DS is 18lb and a heavy wetter at night. I've used disposables at night up until now but am thinking of getting him into reusables - we use Bumgenius during the day which work really well.

I've been looking at Bumbles with a Motherease wrap or Night Notions. Any thoughts on these? Also what sizes would you go for - he's at that annoying size where he's towards the top end of some sizes but not quite at the bottom end of the next size up weightwise. He's also a real wriggler if that makes a difference.

One further question, he's still EBF and waking up every 3 hours to feed. How often do you change a nappy overnight - if at all?

Thanks

I would definately go for a Wee Notions night nappy with a motherease wrap. - go for large they go down pretty slim at the waist. I have been using larges from about that size. I used to put baby into night nappy at 10-11pm feed then not change (unless pooed) til morning. To avoid waking him up too much, then when sleeping through in it from 6pm.

I would go for a good bamboo overnight with a fleece soaker like Pumpkin Pants - motherase covers are ace if you prefr PUL

So how do fleece soakers work (have just been looking at them on the web)? I mean where does the wee go, does it just soak into the fleece? Also, won't they be really hot to wear given that we're coming into summer?

They would be really hot if they stayed dry. But as they will be wet and then evaporation starts they are actually cooling. And cooler than a PUL wrap and far far cooler than a disposable which will lock all the heat and moisture in against the babys skin.

So would it make the sheet that DS is lying on wet as well? Sorry for all the questions!
