I am using some OU t-test calculator software to compare two sets of data

It has given a p value of 1.53E-6 what the dickens does that mean?

It is also asking me to enter two values for desired critical significance level and critical value of t at that significant level (it has worked t out as 5.8)

I have scoured all my info for hours and I cannot make sense of this, can anyone help please?

(I know I could contact my tutor but she takes a good few days to respond)

Hmmm, I did this for one of my Psychology modules. I don't recall getting the e-6 part or similar in my results, but I'll dig out my notes this afternoon when the DCs are asleep and see what they say. I did all the workings in excell, though, so may be try it that way instead of using the t-test calculator?

Sorry, I realise I've been no help at all, but hopefully will have a better idea later on!! (And hopefully someone who actually knows what they are talking about will be along to help soon!! )

Thanks Ladyem but I figured it out after much head scratching

E- values are when it's more digits than usually would be displayed (eg on a calculator) IYWSIM so 1.53E-6 is 0.0000053
