Ok so DD2 finally arrived 10 days ago at a healthy 8lbs 8 and is fitting most of her nappies nicely now shes 8lbs 10 The only problem im having is with fleece wraps! The nature baby ones i use are fine but everytime i put her in a tots bots fleece one she wakes up soaked! DP is getting a bit fed up with it now and wants me to change them but i want to know if anyone has any tips? Could i be doing something wrong?? Never had problems with DD1

Soem of the tots ones are thinner than others - i only found the red wrap which is double layered ever any good then i switched to stacinator fleece on a night and pockets through the day so not much help. Congratulations on your new baby though

Hi there,

Fleece isn't 100% waterproof. It is nice and breathable, soft and comfy, but won't stop lots of moisture from soaking through to sheets and babygros.
Stacinators (fleece wraps from Happy Heinys) are better, being double thickness, but still, not foolproof, imo.

Best idea, really, is to go for a PUL wrap over a fitted nappy (or PUL-lined pocket or AIO), and pop a fleece wrap over the top to stop any excess getting through to the bedclothes and baby's clothing.

Another option is to use wool instead of fleece over a fitted nappy. Wool is pretty magically waterproof once lanolised, and comfy and breathable too.

Fleece is better once your baby starts moving around a bit as if they are totally still you will get compression wicking.
