Toddler jumping on bed - how best to react?

My 2 and 1/4 daughter has been in a small bed since she was 2. She sleeps fine etc and all is well. Inevitably she has started standing up on the bed and jumping up and down - I am petrified she will hurt herself - we have hard wooden floors and I am frightened of an injury. I just caught her standing up and I spoke quite firmly and told her not to do it and that soft toys would be taken downstairs if she continued.

I just don't know the best approach to things like this - I don't want her to be timid but I am so fearful of a bad fall. advice please

Tough one. DD is the same age and adores bouncing as she calls it. But we co-sleep and so 'her' bed is my mahoosive super kingsize bed. I don't know how I would stop her bouncing in her own room.

Just bumping your thread because I have the same problem with my DD. She is a bit younger so still in a cot which is OK for jumping in I suppose - but she also jumps on our bed and I am worried about her falling off onto our hard floors.

She will learn if she has a fall and doesn't like the consequences.

If we constantly tell our children they will hurt themselves if they fall they very quickly learn to never take risks, which can be unhealthy.

Either put down cushions at the side of the bed, buy her a mini trampoline and encourage bouncing on that only ot never her let her play in the bedroom unsupervised....your call
