Dd brought it home today from school.

"Just in case you're planning on booking a holiday..."

WTF??

It must be a joke???

squeaver · 14/05/2010 18:10

Mind you, this is the child who had ponies dressed up as unicorns last year so I probably shouldn't be surprised.

oh that's funny. are they going to be cross if you carry on with your life despite the fact that their five year old may or not be having a party!!

squeaver · 14/05/2010 18:10

Deffo not a joke, wukter.

OP posts:
Magaly · 14/05/2010 18:10

unicorns!? omg. That's different. Cancel your holiday.

5inthebed · 14/05/2010 18:11

Is their surname Beckham or Price?

pagwatch · 14/05/2010 18:12

I have a fantatic mother at DDs school who chases for reply about three weeks before the party. Personalised cards with photos go out about six weeks before party.

Then it is usually a soft play run of the mill thing. I always want clowns and dancing girls after the build up

squeaver · 14/05/2010 18:14

I think that was also the party last year with a mobile coffee cart doing lattes for the adults.

Maybe they'll be doing cocktails this year (might suggest that actually).

Lol pag, how disappointing.

We were all saying at school that we're expecting the actual invites to come with confetti at the very least.

wukter · 14/05/2010 18:16

You'll have to cancel Barbados, squeaver.

thisisyesterday · 14/05/2010 18:19

mobile coffee cart?? well in that case i really would save the date!!!

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 14/05/2010 18:19

Oh god I hate these and they seem to be proliferating! I can just about see it for a wedding but we are constantly getting these now for any old event...

Tee2072 · 14/05/2010 18:20

Is there registry information in it as well?

NoahAndTheWhale · 14/05/2010 18:21

The mum of one of DS's friends told me about the date of his birthday party a few months ago. Party is in October

MarineIguana · 14/05/2010 18:22

Well the unicorns sound OTT but I can't fault the coffee cart concept. I hate going to children's parties where there is nothing for adults. They get wine and posh crisps at ours.

squeaver · 14/05/2010 18:24

Yes, Tee, the list at Harrods

OP posts:
pickledmonkey · 14/05/2010 18:24

that's so american, though i thought only for weddings. people are really crackers these days

pagwatch · 14/05/2010 18:27

we do Pimms at DDs birthday. She will forever associate both her birthday and summer fruits with pissed adults.

The coffee cart sounds brilliant. I would crash a kids party forthat Sqeaver.
Loads of hyper kids and caffined out adults sounds great

pagwatch · 14/05/2010 18:27

at Tee2072 and registry info

Tee2072 · 14/05/2010 18:29

Well, I figured, a save the date must have registry info.

And perhaps hotel information?

It is a destination birthday, is it not?

pagwatch · 14/05/2010 18:40

But then DD got everything she really needed at christmas. Perhaps just cash so she can buy a pony in a different colour

If I could just think of a humourous poenm with which to couch that suggestion

My daughters five
but saints alive
her toys we stash
so just give cash

She needs a pony
so don't be moany!

Terrible

Bumperliouzzzzzz · 14/05/2010 18:43

Good grief, my DD's friends will be lucky if they actually get invitations!
