3.5 year old won't stop crying

Hi I have a nearly 4 (July) year old boy and he is driving me nuts. Whatever does not go his way sends him into a frenzy of crying. I feel like I have tried every method of dealing with it. The calm but firm, the shouting, the crying myself with frustration all the way to total meltdown. I also have a 2 year old girl who has started to copy him so now I have two children screaming the house down. Plus I am 7 months pregnant which is definately not helping my calm-ometer. Does anyone have any constructive advice about how we can deal with this as I don't know how to any more and am pretty worn out with it all.
Thanks

Have you tried just turning and walking out of the room. Dont even bother saying I will not speak to you till you stop as he probably wont hear you! Pre warn him its what you will do though. Earplugs or ipod may help. Absolute zero reaction - after all that is what the tantrumming is all in aid of?

Yes just completely ignore, have you tried that?

Just make sure you are totally consistent. Make sure the boundaries are very clear and very firm. If a child thinks the boundaries can be moved they will try ten times harder to make you give in.

If your children already have very clear and consistent boundaries you need to withdraw attention from the crying. If crying at you doesn't achieve anything they will both give up eventually. Leave the room, turn your back, speak to the other child, pick up a book, whatever it takes to get the message across that their crying has no effect on you.

Good luck.

I remember my dd doing that. Can't remember what we did. Think it's normal and it will pass.
