How to keep DS's hands out of his nappy area?

DS is 4.5 months. When I change his nappy, he often sticks his hands into the area where his nappy is before I've had chance to wipe it (I'm using cloth nappies). Any tips on how I can prevent him (short of using handcuffs)? He's not yet competent enough at holding things for me to be able to give him something to hold & play with.

It's not a big deal, but it does mean I have to be quick off the mark with the wipes before he stuffs his hands in his mouth. It's not the end of the world if he gets a bit of wee in his mouth, but I do try to maintain some sort of hygiene if I can.

stick stickers on his hands, he'll be busy looking at them / trying to pull them off. He might eat them though?

Riven: Oh, joy!

Today I think he was trying to take his nappy off because DH was too slow.

After that he was clinging on for dear life to the nappy box on one side and the chair leg on the other. He looked just like he was on a torturer's rack!

Hadn't thought about swaddling. I'll get a muslin out ready.

Perhaps edible stickers?? (but might need to wait till 6 months - could be a whole new branch of BLW )
