My 4.5 yr old DD wants to watch high school musical. I don't know much about it and no idea how she knows what it is. What do you think?

I think much of the "plot" will go over her head but lots of colourful singing and dancing.

You could borrow it, watch it and then decide. I love it!! Your dd will probably like the singing, which is the best thing about it.

I didn't really want DD to watch HSM but she loves it - and after watching all of them with her they are just mainly singing and dancing - quite harmless. It's Disney after all so normal Disney plot.

I'm sure it will be fine for her. I remember watching "Grease" when I was that age.

my DD is 4.5 and watches it, she loves it. i was wary about letting them (DD is 6) but it is disney and all very innocent. lots of singing and dancing.

My 5yo watched and enjoyed it, but has never asked for it to be played again, she seemed to like the singing and dance routines whilst it was on. It's good clean fun, no swearing or sexy bits.

My dd saw it for the first time about the same age. I think it's fine, they like the singing and dancing. Not to mention, I used to watch Grease on a loop from around that age, and that went completely over my head. Was when I first watched it again as an adult! Pussy wagon indeed

Nemofish · 26/04/2010 16:36

Bet you wondered where all the cats and kittens from the pussy wagon had gone?

FWIW - my nan used to let me stay up late to watch Prisoner Cellblock H when I was 10, (vinegar tits and the freak with her leather gloves) I watched the Rocky Horror constantly from age 9, and was reading (very) grown up novels from the age of 7/8 - complete with gore, drug taking scenes and shagging aliens.

On second thoughts, don't let her watch it.
Slippery slope and all theat

justallovertheplace · 26/04/2010 16:38

my dd is 5 and knows Rocky Horror by heart

Nemofish · 26/04/2010 16:46

The suspender and cross dressing don't mean much to them at that age! It's not too explicit, she'll just think they are 'having cuddles' in the partner swapping scenes...

Bad mummy!

Feelingsensitive · 26/04/2010 16:57

That's alright then It's on now. She keeps forwarding the talking bits to the singing and dancing.
