Advice please! We are having to go to a wedding abroad, no children allowed. It is over a bank holiday and I have just found the only flights i can get is for 5 nights (rather than the 3 i was hoping for)
I feel so panicky about leaving my ds, never had a night away from him before. He will be with his grandmas in our house but can anybody reassure me, have they gone away while dcs were very small? Or is it too long to leave him the first time?

Many Thanks

I suspect it won't be too long for your ds (I doubt they can accurately estimate time at this age), but it may be for you . I left dd for 4 nights when she was 8 months, and again for 5 nights when she was 13 months. She was fine both times. Will be leaving her again for 4 nights in June when she will be 18 months.

Can you do a 'test run' before your trip, maybe leave him with a granny for a night? Just to get used to the idea and ease yourself in slowly?

thanks xandrarama, yes i think a test run is a good idea. Don't know who i feel more guilty about, ds being left or the grannies i'm leaving him with!

Thanks for the reassurance!
