What would you do if a child came to your house and....

weed in one of your cups?

DD age just 7 had 2 friends round yesterday. DD told me tonight that this friend, also 7, went to the toilet, came out with a cup with liquid in it and told DD and friend that she had just weed in it. My initial reaction was disgust (DD can't remember which cup - wish she'd told me yesterday so I could scrub all the cups! I've probably drank out of the cup in question). Now I'm finding it just weird in the sense that if that's what she does for attention/whatever, what else will she do? I really don't feel like inviting her back..

is sort of weird, but kids that age are aren't they. would leave it and see if anything else odd occurs!

Shitemum · 13/04/2010 21:11

maybe someone in her family recently had to give a sample and she's just copying?

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 13/04/2010 21:14

Could it have just been water?

Isn't this what kids do?

My DD (4yo) came in with a cup of wee....much to our relief it was apple juice.

LynetteScavo · 13/04/2010 21:20

Now, if it were at 12 yo, I would be worried.

coldtits · 13/04/2010 21:22

It was probably water, but children that age do often have a weird fascination with their own bodily functions

DebiNewberry · 13/04/2010 21:24

I should imagine that it was just water. If she had weed in a cup, there would prob have been wee everywhere no?

(Or is that just me?!)

navelgazer · 13/04/2010 21:24

Ok I'm a bit relived to hear that I may be overeacting just a bit, she's a bit of a spoilt girl but quite pleasant and DD does like her. Will leave it and watch this space.

I think at 7 that is pretty odd, yes. As in, I've known a lot of 7 year olds over the years and none of them have ever peed in a cup, to my knowledge. But not worryingly odd - and I wouldn't have said attention-seeking, more curious.

beesonmummyshead · 13/04/2010 21:38

I think weeing in a cup in a strangers house at age 7 is quite odd actually, though it did make me But I don't in any way think it is anything to worry about, just odd.

However dd (2.7) recently went behind the sofa with a tall narrow glass and filled it with wee without spilling a drop. I was unsure whether to be horrified or impressed

This brought memories back of once when I was at a swimming pool. A little boy was stood on his own watching me and smiled really sweetly at me at the end of each couple of lengths I swam. Eventually I stopped for a rest and he sidled up to me and leaned in confidentially and said "I've just peed in this pool, I have"

(btw I'm not a v good swimmer and do manage to swallow a lot of water)

DD2 recently went through a phase of having to wee in my cleaning dish (which fortunately is often filled with bleach or disinfectant and boiling water) instead of her potty. This made dd1 (6) wee in the cleaning dish also.

I'd say it was either water and she was just being silly or she was copying.

Is DD having a little joke with you? Sounds like it! I hope so... but get the Milton out, just in case!
