Another daft question about Pumpkin Pants fleece soakers

Now I have my lovely fleece soakers, a quick question about washing. The websit I bought them from (Bespoke Baby Room) says to wash at 40 degrees. Will washing them at 60 do them any harm, do you think?

It's not often I get as far as washing at 40 these days as there are too many things in the laundry that need a hot wash.

I would try and switch your washing habits generally - I rarely wash at 60 now. If you are worried about washing at 40 then put a scoop of sanistiser - BioD, Onelife Pure or Clean and Fresh in your wash to kill all germs at 40. But generally 40 is fine for most washes.

Thanks for the reply, Sal.

I do have some laundry sanitiser (from Home Scents), but does it work with Eco Balls, do you know? I'm trying to work out what will be the cheapest option, as cash is a bit tight. Any suggestions?

The only reason I wash at 60 is because of the poo-ey nappies / wipes in most loads. I'm still getting to grips with washing baby things (DS is only 3 months old).

Well I use eco balls with most washes, although I'm not convinced that they actually do much more than washing with nothing at all!
I would probably wash at 40 with sanitiser and a very small dose of non bio, or actually add sanitiser in with my eco balls, but that's because I do't think it would do them any harm, although I know that goes against their recommendation.

But I'm sure others will have other suggestions.

I always used to stuff any non-pooey nappies in with whatever load I was washing (non bio, no conditioner) and save a few pooey ones for a couple of days for a pre-wash then add in any washing I had to make up a load, that way I had no 'extra' nappy loads, and no pile of nappies waiting washing/drying.

Hi - that is me - BBR. You can was fleece at 60 degs - it wont harm them just recommend 40 as fleece doesnt need the hot wash and dries pretty quick. Maybe pop the soakers in with normal clothes? Hope they are working well for you.

Hi

I put the fleece soaker with normal clothes. I have to do a nappy wash every 2-3 days, full load as I have 2 kids, the eldest is only with nappies at night, but still...
As the fleece soaker tend to be smelly, I can t always wait the nappy wash to wash it. I mostly wash nappies at night also, and need the soaker at night.
I do have a programm on my washing machine that washes at 40 but with the same clean as a 60 wash( I dont know if this sound clear), meaning I don t wash often the nappies at 60 anymore, even the pooish ones, and they are clean, not smelly at all.

Thanks everyone!

No leaks so far, Octo, which is good. I love the patterns! I have a feeling that on the current rate of progress, Fat Boy DS won't be in the medium size for that long, though...must stop feeding him so well
