New Pampers Active Fit anybody else tried these?

Have always used Pampers Active Fit but latest 2 packs I bought appears to be some kind of "Trial" pack (can't tell until you open the packet!). Haven't tried them yet but they seem really thin and flimsy and I can't believe that they will be any good - loads of adverse comments on pampers website too - has anybody actually used these with any success?

Not sure about a trial pack but have got a pack of active fit which are different from before and not in a good way - they feel less soft and when wet it seems to clump more, sagging down to the bottome rather than just adding a bit of extra cushioning If pampers are like this from now on, think I'll be switching to another brand

Oh My Goodness - I have been unlucky enough to have bought a pack of Active Fit with the note inside that says "The Pampers Team are working to improve our products.... blah blah blah... a new product in this bag you have bought.. We would like to hear what you think...etc."

What a load of rubbish!.. I am so annoyed at Pampers. Can they do this... can they just change the product for something inferior.. charge the same amount and not even have a warning on the outside of the packaging saying that they have changed the product?"

The nappies are thin and flimsy and seem to have about half of the usual absorbent pad in them. They leak after just a measly 2 hours.... I've just had to get my 9 month old DS up and change him, wash him and strip my bed. it took me and hour to get the poor little might settled again. So much for the Pampers "Golden Sleep" slogan!. What are we supposed to do... wake our dear little ones up every hour and 30 mins during the night to change them! My DS hadn't even peed that much, the nappies are just so bad that they hardly hold anything!

WARNING TO ALL..... There is no way of telling until you open the pack, whether or not you've got the "new improved design" (which actually means ... the new cheaper to make version, which is worse value for money because they don't work!)

Like thehappyprince above... I will now be switching to another brand... and I'll be on the phone to Trading Standards first thing on Monday morning.... I want to know where I stand about getting a refund. I've only got this one large pack of Active Fit 4's in the house, it's 11 o'clock at night, my husband's working abroad and I'm stuck with these useless nappies. I've got my DS sleeping on a folded towel so when the next one leaks at least the bed covers will be saved.

If Pampers wanted to trial a nappy they should have sent them out free of charge!... NAUGHTY NAUGHTY PAMPERS!.

agree with hoke they are not good. they do not keep them dry. my ds has had nappy rash for the first time in 22 months after using these nappies they are low quality. {angry}{angry} i seem to be changing his nappy every hour

Ah, so happy it's not just me. The new ones seem to have a really plasticky smell, they have leaked and they are just generally rubbish. For the first time ever, my ds has nappy rash (he is 22 months old and we have used all kinds of washable and disposable nappies and never had a problem.)
It's the smell that really made me realise they were different though. Really overpoweringly plastic and yuck. And shame on them for making us pay to trial them. They have changed their wipes as well I think we were using the ones in a white packet, but they seem really dry now. Back to tesco ones for us I think

These nappies are awful - now I understand why we've had two leaks in four nights. Totally agree that this has to be against the trade descriptions act, and that any trial shouldn't involve paying customers. So I've just sent the story to Watchdog - it's really easy - if enough of us do it it could really get Pampers in the shit, ahem, scuse the pun.
Here's the form:

I also had a pack of those and am dissapointed. with the meshy lining they where good for larger exclusively breast fed babies runny poo...
thanks foe the watchdog link.
they want feedback? they will get it!

I just looked ar the pampers website, it seems that they have done the same with the newborn nappies, if you look at the product comments.

edam · 03/05/2010 10:53

I'm surprised Proctor & Gamble allowed a new nappy that isn't very good to go out to customers. I've been to their R&D labs in Germany. They have hundreds of babies and toddlers and pre-school children testing their nappies. The families get free nappies in return for coming along to the lab.

It was VERY weird. They 'load' the nappies with liquid (the older kids stand up while a hosepipe pumps stuff in) and then let the kids play and see whether the nappy, um, holds up. So you'd think they'd have noticed whether the new stuff was rubbish.

I have had several wet cots this week after buying the new pampers. WIn desperation I went on the pampers website last night and their message board is jam packed with irrate mums and dads who have also been coping with leaks. The story seems to be the same from everyone- they leak at the back. I have bought some own brand ones from Lidl today on the recommendation of mumsnet reviewers and they seem fine; nice quality and definately with more padding at the back- will let you know how they perform....

BlueKat · 10/08/2010 13:54

The new pampers are indeed cr@p!!

Why do they do this to us all the time. Get a product perfect, everyone uses it for months/years happily then the company decide that they need to change it and make it worse.

Where do you turn... IMO there are no other nappies that are as good as the old pampers. But I guess I can buy cheaper so when I have to use 2 instead of the normal one every time, it doesn't cost me double!

On the pampers site forum (that I cannot log into because it is obviously as useless as their new nappies...) one of the posters phoned the number on the pack (0800 328 3281) and the person on the other end said they hadn't heard any negative feedback before...

Heads buried in sand comes to mind!

I had the same problem after using Active Fit nappies for a few months I then bought two boxes on offer at £18 only to find they were the new "improved" nappies. I was so disappointed to be finding wet nappies in the morning (this had never happened whilst using the old style nappies) that I phones Pampers up to complain. After discussing my concerns with an advisor I received a voucher for £18 to spend on new nappies. They aso suggested using Baby Dry nappies for night time use or purchasing size 4+ (my baby was using size 4) as these are no bigger just more absorbant. I found this was not the case as the size 4+ nappies were way too big and leaked even more!!! This all happened around April/May and I also was told that they had received no similar comments to which I referred them to their own website as the forums have plenty of similar negative comments with regards to the new Active Fit nappies.
I don't know why they bothered to change a perfectly good product??!
