my 10 month old has a sickness bg of some sort, which I bet she picked up at nursery. she's now more interested in food, so I'm trying to get her to eat small amounts, though she wants loads as shes not eaten properly since friday bedtime. Are there any foods you think are best to get her started on? Shes drinking plenty.

Banana is a good one. Anything plain and bland like pasta or rice, the main thing is she's drinking plenty. Hope she's feeling fine soon.

Toast or stewed apple also good. There's a mnemonic (BRAT) which means bananas, rice, apples, toast and these are meant to be the best foods for children recovering from diarrhoea and vomiting. I sometimes resort to digestive biscuits if nothing else is acceptable - I reason that it's not so very different from toast really, apart from the sugar which might be quite beneficial in this case. It's one situation in which empty calories are not necessarily an awful thing. Steer clear of anything very fatty or milky, as these are likely to be less well tolerated by a delicate stomach.
