Does this sound like a good plan for a birthday?

Dd will be 4 in April.
I have got her - various pressies, dinosaur related bit and pieces as she is dino obsessed, a wii game, peppa pig torch, toy story lego and a rose petal cottage for her big present. (got it half price in january - yay!) Also a snazzy outfit from next to wear on her birthday (not that she is incredibly fashion concious yet).

Me and dh have planned a day out to a childrens science museum, near her birthday, and a birthday lunch on her birthday with dd, me dh and dsd. Will decorate the table and have sausage rolls, sandwiches, salad and buns - plus of course the dinosaur birthday cake, on colourful paper plates and cups etc.

Now growing up I didn't have much, and in the past I have been a bit 'tight' with dd, now I am trying to get the balance right without going bananas. She is a sweet child who doesn't 'expect' any huge fuss on her birthday, and I think she will be thrilled.

Am I horribly deluded or have I got it about right? Money not an issue btw, just my judgement!

Sounds lovely... IMO you have the balance just right. Have a great time!

Are you thinking she should have more or less?

I think she'll be thrilled too!

Just making sure that I haven't gone OTT. I think that if I had gone for a proper party as well as day out and pressies, that would have been daft, so I had to pick and choose.

But saying 'ok so no party then' made me wonder if I was being tight again a bit.
