How to stop being a shouty mum?

DS3.5 and DD1.5. DS is proving a bit of a handful, told general boundary pushing boisterous behaviour! Wont listen wont do as told..nothing new i hear you say.

He is always up to something. Whereever we go i am constantly berating him for something. I always wanted everyone to love DS and want to be with him but now i really feel like they dont want to be with the shouty moany old mother!!

Any advise on how to start again, stop shouting and just manage day to day. We already have house rules, reward chart going nowhere. Had Sticker charts. He constantly looses privaledges or toys or stories and putting him in the corner isnt workin. DD throws major wobblies whenever she doesnt get her own way and i just dont know what to do anymore.

thinks midnightexpress has done some serious research into this issue.

Defo agree with what the lil buggers up to now comment. and ignoring dd tantrums hopefully will work as well as improve ds behaviour. He has actually copied her and either thrown a wobblie himself or if she hurt her toe, then he would hurt his too just to cry and get attention.!!

Must give DC more attention!!!

Thinks you lot are fab really given me lots to think about!!

Can you get ds in on the act to help when dd has a strop? I find sometimes when ds throws something cos I have said 'no more biscuits', me and dd look at each other and say 'ooohhh' and laugh and then we try and deal with the strop. And I say, 'I think your baby brother is having a strop, oh dear' and she finds something to distract him with. Like she is my ally, kinda...
