Swim nappy - confused

This may be a stupid question, but I just bought a bambino mio swim nappy and there's no absorbant layer in it - how does it work, am I supposed to use something inside it...?

thanks

I use a happy nappy for dd, sounds similar to what you have - it's just another layer of protection really. I use huggies swim nappies underneath.

I think that they're just meant to catch and hold poo, they don't absorb wee. I only put my DD's swim nappy once we get to the pool

There's no point in having an absorbant part to a swim nappy as it's impossible to keep the pool water out. Huggies swimmers do have some absorbant material but I'm not sure why as it just sucks in the pool water - perhaps it's so that you can put it on before going to the swimming pool?

The aim is to contain poo rather than wee!

Yep, its for the "solid matter", hahaha!

Mu dd wears aged 7 swim nappies to go in her school hydro pool because she is not cintinent, so its a requirement there. We have washable ones, and to my knowledge she's never "needed" the swim nappy.
