I would really like to see it and wondered if it would be suitable for a sensitive 5 year old girl ?
I know it's a P.G but I don't know if it's very scary for a small child? She's seen Coroline, which at the time I thought maybe it was too scary but she loved it.
What do you think ?

I went to see it in 3D at the weekend with 10yo DD.

She did find it a bit scary in places but is easily spooked and scared by films. It probably made it worse that we saw it in 3D though as some of the creatures do come out of the screen at you and they seem so much more realistic.

I'm glad I didn't take 5yo DS as I don't think he would have liked it, or he would have had bad dreams afterwards.

I went to see it today and it was a lot darker than I imagined it would be. I would not take her if she is sensitive as some parts of the film are a bit gruesome. I took Ds who is 5 but as he was getting up every 5 mins for toilet breaks/more popcorn I don't think he watched that much of it

Wait for the dvd or go to see the non 3d version, my 13 year old went and said her 4 year old brother would have been scared but she went with a 5 year old boy who thought it was great but is used to scary 3d films.
Don't expect it to be like the book, Alice is age 20 in it, I didn't know.

I took 8yo dd to it. I was a little worried about it being too scary, but dd seems to have inherited a love of scary movies from her father. It was quite dark and gruesome, very much in the spirit of the book although it is a quite different story.

I loved it, which shocked me because I don't like either Tim Burton or Johnny Depp. I thought he was the perfect Mad Hatter.

Thanks everyone. I definatly won't be taking her. She finds the which in snow white too scary, I have to fast forward that part.
I will go and see it with my husband, I think I'd love it.

It is definitely too scary for a sensitive child. Not a great film either I thought, very dull.

Do you think she will be ok to see it?
