Are teenagers harder work than babies and toddlers?

Just so I know whether to start saving up for boarding school fees, really...

Colour me stupid, because I only have one very young toddler, but with teens, can't you just sort of go into a different room and shut the door if they're being difficult? And don't they go out with friends and things?

I mean, I get that the tantrums are worse and they're more expensive and etc., but the sheer unrelenting having-to-be-there-ness of toddlers doesn't apply, right?

Also, they have lie ins on the weekends. Or can make themselves breakfast. Please, tell me this is true.

I have a 8MO, 21MO, 11YO and 15YO (the elder two are my DSDs and have been for 10 years)

I find 10-13YO the most difficult time.

The little ones are dependant on me and the 15YO is independant... but that bit in the middle - where they are just learning to cope on their own... It's the most difficult bit IMHO as it's so important that you get it right and teach them what they need to know as adults.

has anyone got any advice please about how/if to persuade my 11 year old SON to change school? On one hand, parents know best (!?) but he is adamant that current place is best for him and we are truly torn in half, wanting .

my ds(16) has never had a tantrum! he is the easiest teenager in the world. i think my younger one will be more troublesome.

My teenagers are more demanding than they ever were as toddlers/babies.

It's been a huge learning curve!

I have boys of 5, 13, 16, and I like to think I know a bit about parenting, as I'm also in a profession where I work with children/families.

Teenagers are tough!

Short answer, Do not worry about the future, or the past, or the present, enjoy each day, know God is with you and your kids. He is bigger than their hopes and fears, achievements and mistakes, and yours.
