Do you find buying nappies a pain?

I don't think this service exist but if it did, would you find it useful to have a "nappy subscription" and be delivered the right amount of nappies for your baby every week (or month), rather than having to buy them from the shop?

Trying to think of new business ideas here. In the first few weeks a baby goes through 70+ nappies per week and I seem to remember that I was running out all the time. Didn't want to buy in bulk because I wasn't sure how long it would last before I had to buy a different size...

What do you think?

i dont buy many nappies because i use washables most of the time...but as a business idea i think its clever...only trouble is how to make a profit doing this? i dont know about other mums, but nappies are already quite expensive, and im always looking for those on offer to cut costs.
i guess its a case of cost vs convenience.

This was initially the main reason I swapped to cloth - I just couldn't be bothered with the nappy shops!

I think it's a good idea but as curlimum said, I'm not sure how much profit you'll make. Will depend on wholesale prices vs cost to parent.

There is a huge mark up on disposables - however you need to be able to bulk buy in the terms that huge supermarket chains do.

I really don't think, with the increased use of online supermarket ordering and home delivery, that a) you'd ever get enough customers or b) you'd cover the costs of fuel in delivering or c) you'd have enough storage space to buy in bulk or d) you could offer at low enough a price to compete with the supermarket offers yet still turn a profit.

You might be better off with pet food delivery.

I cant help thinking your postage / courier costs would munch into your profit so much would it be worth doing? That said if a local service only and your prepared to deliver and can buy in mega bulk its worth investigating. I personally with my first hated drudging to boots and clambering wads of nappies home, it didnt take me long to switch to cloth and ive never looked back

might work if marketed as a sort of milk round, so along the lines of making life easier post natally rather that for tiny savings?

I hated having to stuff my buggy with packs of nappies every time I went for a walk, and always having to walk up to town (rather than the scenic way) to buy nappies (no matter how much I tried to stock up when I did big supermarket shops - still always seemed to be running out!)

Love not having to do that now (as switched to cloth )

you could offer a buy back service for unused unopened packs - my LO grew out of the first few sizes really quickly leaving me with a nappy mountain that I ended up giving away!
