zoomaround?

Jamieandhismagictorch · 01/03/2010 18:19

Zoomaround has been closed for a couple of years .... Will put my thinking cap on ....

How about the Castle on Regents Canal in Camden - it's just reopened and is pretty big (although may be a bit too big for your needs). May be a little far for you too ...

Will have a think

Highbury Roundhouse? www.highbury-roundhouse.org.uk/index.php

Sorry - here's a link to the Pirate Castle too

SheikDjabouti · 01/03/2010 18:25

Pirates Playhouse on Green Lanes?

They do a party package with food as well....

Jamieandhismagictorch · 01/03/2010 18:25

St Matthias Church hall, on Wordsworth Rd, N16 - large church hall with space for a small bouncy castle. I can also recommend Mr Marvel entertainers

Corams Fields (near Russell square/Great Ormond Street Hospital) - great, enclosed park with loads of play equipment. I think you can also rent out a room there. Parking is free nearby on a Sunday.

Goodo ! - Mr Marvel (in common with lots of entertainers) not cheap, but I 've only had that sort of party once for each DS.

domesticslattern · 02/03/2010 22:38

Glad you avoided Highbury Roundhouse. Utterly grim. Pirates Playhouse depressingly filthy too, I hear from recent visitors.

Have a lovely party! 25 kids

happylarryslittlesister · 03/03/2010 16:22

mr marvel called me last night at 7pm, he started to launch into his speel about his packages and i had to cut him off as i needed to get the boys in bed as 15 month old was copying his brother and about to launch himself from the sofa! ufortunately he's not called me back although he said he would!! have no tel number for him so will see... so far to be impressed!! lol

agree pirate playhouse is grim and filthy... not been to roundhouse!

friend is having ds party at corams fields april, so don't want to steal her venue iykwim!

Hope Mr Marvel is OK - this was a couple of years ago. Their website has got flashier, I notice

SheikDjabouti · 03/03/2010 18:03

oh dear, shame about Pirates Playhouse. DS had his 8th birthday there and it was fine, but clearly a couple of years of grime must have accumulated..

domesticslattern · 04/03/2010 20:17

Saw this guy recently in North London. Very enthusiastic and really worked the crowd. I imagine his act would go down quite well with 4 year olds.

Ok, I'm reviving this thread because I need ideas for a party venue. I go through this every year Hmm Life would be simple if I had summer kids!

I need:
winter venue
accessible on public transport North or central London
suitable for 4-7 yr olds
cheap

One yr we took a gamble and had a bouncy castle in the garden after school in midwinter, dont want to chance that again, although we were lucky with the weather!!
Also, no Macd's, done that. No soft play, its too expensive and I hate it!I've got bowling in my head as a back up as its the cheapest option, but I just think some of them are too young to enjoy it much; there's alot of waiting round for turns!

RememberToPlaywiththeKids · 02/01/2011 21:03

There's the Talacre Treetops soft play at the talacre sports centre - free parking in side roads and pay and display and they have a separate party room for birthday tea, so usually an hour or so in the soft play bit then all kids go to the room. works really well. also on the overland line.
