how to keep kids active when you can't go out/haven't much strength?

Hiya,

am not actually disabled but have ongoing battle with managing to satisfy children's (22 months and 3.5 years)need for activity with my own difficulties - am dyspraxic and don't have much energy so juggling two little ones when I go out is a total nightmare. Both need 1:1 attention in playground and walks.

I am recovering from swine flu with pleurisy at the moment so it's doubly difficult. I do what I can to entertain them at home but they are bouncing off the walls. I need to take it easy as I have had M.E. and don't want to risk a relapse. Any suggestions? My LO's are very demanding and I feel totally drained and guilty by the end of the day.

Whenever I have been ill I have made a tunnel or den using the sofa cushions, clothes airer, cardboard boxes, blankets etc. They can climb, crawl and jump - plus use their imaginations a bit (is it a cave, a house, a secret tunnel etc.). They can even have their meals in their and take toys in and out all day.

It means you only have to set up once and then leave them too it.

Good luck with your recovery.

Themagicnumber, what a genius idea! I am crap at getting rid of cardboard boxes, so we have loads around. They'll love it.

Thanks for the kind wishes too
